I note that The British Library has now made some two million Victorian newspapers available online (see here).  This innovation will be welcomed by those that prefer to conduct research from the comfort of their own home.  Although most material is available only by subscription, both The Graphic and The Penny Illustrated Paper can be used free of charge!
